Water and Sweat Resistance

The documented SoundSport Free earbuds have an IPX4 rating, meaning they are designed to resist sweat and water splashes. Bose specifically describes them as suitable for exercise and outdoor use. (Bose)

However, IPX4 protection does not mean the earbuds are waterproof or suitable for swimming or submersion. (Nexxbase | Bose Authorized Distributor)

Built-In Microphone for Calls

The SoundSport Free includes an integrated dual-microphone array in the right earbud for phone calls when connected to a compatible smartphone using Bluetooth. (Nexxbase | Bose Authorized Distributor)

• 💼 Work communication
• 🎙️ Voice conversations

A quick 15-minute charge can provide up to 45 minutes of playback, according to Bose. (Nexxbase | Bose Authorized Distributor)

Convenient Controls

The earbuds include physical controls for everyday operation. Bose states that the controls can be used for functions such as playing and pausing music, skipping tracks, controlling volume and managing calls. (Nexxbase | Bose Authorized Distributor)

This allows users to perform common functions without constantly reaching for their smartphone.

Find My Buds Function

The Bose Connect app includes a Find My Buds feature that can display the last known location and time the earbuds were used, helping users locate misplaced earbuds. (Bose)

Things to Consider

The SoundSport Free is an older Bose product generation; Bose lists it as sold from 2017 to 2020. (Bose Support) Therefore, buyers purchasing a product currently marketed as “Bose K23” should verify the exact model, condition, authenticity and included accessories before purchase.

It is also important to distinguish water resistance from waterproofing. The IPX4 rating is intended for sweat and splashes rather than swimming or underwater use. (Nexxbase | Bose Authorized Distributor)
